Frequently Asked Questions
My powerpoint files are not converting properly. How can I fix this problem? Please follow these steps:
1. Open up ActiveSync 2. Click Options 3. Click "Rules" tab at the top 4. Click "Conversion Settings" button 5. Click "Desktop to Device" 6. Check for an entry in the list of file types named "Microsoft PowerPoint Presentation", and click it. 7. Make sure that "Convert to Pocket Slides Presentation" is listed.
If you have upgraded to ActiveSync 3.5 or installed or uninstalled any other PowerPoint applications after installing Pocket Slides, you will need to reinstall. After doing so, dragging a PPT file into your Mobile Device folder should pop up the Export Options configuration screen and Pocket Slides will convert the file. What VGA devices/cards does Pocket Slides support?Pocket Slides currently supports: Future versions of Pocket Slides will support: OEMs looking for Pocket Slides to support their device should contact Conduits for more information. When I run Pocket Slides using a projector, a double-image is showing on the screen. Why?These "double-images" occur when you have your VGA device's "shadow" program (such as Voyager Shadow, Margi Mirror, etc) running.
You do not need to run such a program when using Pocket Slides, since Pocket Slides communicates directly to the VGA device. Try exiting it, and configuring the VGA output via Tools > Options. How do I convert CPT files into PPT files on the desktop using Pocket Slides?Reverse conversion is the process of converting CPT files from the device into PPT files on the desktop. This conversion utility installs on your desktop machine and is activated when you drag a CPT file onto your desktop.
The Standalone Pocket Slides Conversion utility is also installed on your desktop, and does not time-out -- you activate it via your Start Menu -> Programs -> Conduits Pocket Slides.
By clicking "Convert Now" you may perform a PPT to CPT conversion or a CPT to PPT conversion, without ActiveSync interacting with the device. How do I navigate through Reverse Conversion on my desktop? With Pocket Slides 1.2 and higher, we have introduced a feature called "reverse conversion."
Simply double-click the "My Computer" icon on your desktop, and then double-click the "Mobile Device" icon in that window. If your device is connected, that window will list the files in your My Documents directory on the mobile device.
To convert a Pocket Slides presentation back onto the desktop, simply drag it out of this window onto your desktop or another window of your desktop's storage. It will convert the CPT file back into a PPT file. How do I use the standalone converter? The "standalone" utility is simply a component of the main Pocket Slides installation that can be downloaded from: http://www.conduits.com/products/slides/download.asp
The installer will add items to the Start Menu on the desktop, such as "Pocket Slides Export Options." When launching this item, click "Convert Now," and it will launch the converter. How do I insert a picture from a storage card into my presentation? You will want to:
Open up ActiveSync and click Explore.
In the window that appears, double-click My Pocket PC, and then double-click Storage Card.
Double-click the "My Documents" directory that appears in that window (or create it if it doesn't exist), and then drag the PPT files into that window. See more articles on this topic in the Conduits Knowledge Base.
